Mr. Mortgage, Inc. opened its doors at 2318 New Road, Northfield, NJ (at "The Chalet") on April 1, 1999. The President and Chief Lending Officer, James J. Copsey, had mortgage lending experience in all phases of financing since 1994, prior to opening Mr. Mortgage, Inc. In addition to the direct financing experience, he has completed the New Jersey qualifications for a Certified Residential Appraiser license and practiced from 1992 to 1999. He presently participates in the Continuing Education Courses to maintain his certification to date.

Another major advantage in mortgage lending is that James J. Copsey operated a large restaurant locally, Copsey's Restaurant, since 1963 and owned the facility since 1971. He closed the doors in 1991. This business experience is especially profound when dealing with self employed borrowers, commercial lending, creative financing and bankruptcy situations. The present operation is designed so that the clients have a step-by-step guidance through the process so they can communicate with the necessary professional at any time. Not someone that has to find out the answer, rather the direct person that has the file in process.

Stage 1
There are three stages that permit the timely and effective closing of the loans. The first is the Underwriting which ascertains which lender and which program is best for the client’s needs. I, James J Copsey the Loan Officer and Daniel Rodriguez, the Processor, analyze all of the information that we have collected and ascertain which lender has the best possible rates, terms and guidelines and best fit the client’s needs. We have access to numerous lenders with many different loan programs and guidelines that can place most any loan, with competitive pricing and rates. Mr. Rodriguez has been associated with Mr Mortgage, Inc. since 2010 and has trained in every aspect of the loan process for many years prior to starting with Mr. Mortgage Inc. After the two of us fully analyze the complete loan we request any piece of information that would enhance the lenders underwriting viewpoint and provide better rates and terms. All of this information is fully explained in the What to Know section of this website, please feel free to browse through that entire section.

Stage 2 of the process is the Processing phase which collects the information, prepares the package, and sends it to the chosen lender. Your loan officer navigates the internet to the respective lenders and has been trained from the entry level working exclusively in this department development.

Stage 3is the final, and most critical, stage which coordinates all of the closing requirements such as title insurance, termite, payoffs, lender stipulations, etc. Daniel Rodriguez also manages this department and effectively coordinates all of these requirements for a timely and speedy settlement.

The system at Mr. Mortgage, Inc. is designed to be effective, informative and timely so that the most important person, Our Client, is confident that every important factor has been addressed and that there are no surprises at the closing table.

How to Apply - Reverse Mortgage Apply Online Now

Unlike the Standard Mortgage process, the Reverse Mortgage guidelines do not require any income information, a very limited credit report and of course no out of pocket charges, except the appraisal fee paid directly to the appraisal management company, and this can be deferred and can be paid at the closing table from the loan funds. Prior to ordering the appraisal, we search the Internet websites in the immediate area of your home to ascertain the estimated range of value of your property so when we calculate the program options the value will be within range of the final appraisal so no money is spent without results.

What we basically need is the names and personal information on the Borrowers and the property address and description. There is a computer program that takes care of the rest and we sit down personally and explain the many options that are available to you no matter how many questions are how long it takes for you to be comfortable. After you fully understand the program and are ready to move forward, the government demands for your protection that the Borrowers comply with counseling with the AARP, HUD or a privately designated counseling service so they are FULLY aware of what the program is all about. All of these organizations have extreme Privacy Policies as demanded by law.

The rest of the process is signing the application, our packaging and presentation to the lender, and a standard settlement just like a normal mortgage is handled. We, of course, walk you through the entire process including at the table in the final closing.

We here at Mr Mortgage Inc., as well as the entire marketplace, are very excited about this incredibly beneficial program for our senior citizens. We invite you to inquire if you qualify and have an interest in stabilizing your financial security and quality of life.
